INCHR ENGAGES UNDP TO STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIP AND INSTITUTIONAL COLLABORATION
The Acting Chairperson of the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR), Cllr. Mohammed El-Dust Fahnbulleh, together with Commissioner Prof. David Dolo, has held a fruitful engagement with the Country Director of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Liberia.
During the meeting, UNDP reaffirmed its strong and longstanding partnership with the INCHR and expressed its continued commitment to supporting the Commission, regardless of changes in leadership. Both institutions emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration in advancing human rights, good governance, and institutional strengthening in Liberia.
The meeting also agreed that the two institutions will engage at the technical level to conduct a detailed review of the INCHR’s six-month work plan. The review is intended to strengthen coordination, improve effectiveness, and maximize the impact of planned activities.
Cllr. Fahnbulleh expressed appreciation for the warm reception, noting that UNDP is his former workplace, where he served for eight consecutive years. The visit also provided an opportunity to reconnect with former colleagues, reflecting the strong professional relationships and mutual respect developed over the years.
The INCHR remains committed to deepening its partnership with UNDP and other development partners as it works to promote and protect human rights, strengthen institutions, and advance good governance in Liberia.
